Brewers' Guild
Malt, hops and the long wait.
Brewers boil wort and ferment it into beer and mead. At the vat you tend the temperature and drop in hops and yeast on cue. A mediocre batch sells; a fine one gets a name chalked on the barrel.
Wort is a refined good that never reaches a shop: brew it first, then turn it into beer. Taverns buy by the cask, so brewers and innkeepers need each other.
